i'm feeling 21

I turned 21 this week. I thought I was going to have "cool" and/or "adult" figured out by the time I was this old. I also thought I was going to grow 5 or 7 more inches, but whatever.

So here is a video I made. There are clips from Monday's Jazz Walk, my usual walk to campus/class, the BBC Bristol studio tour, my very special birthday drink, some pre-/post- wine tasting circle, and general Saturday-walking-through-Bristol shenanigans. If you're paying attention, maybe you'll catch my super sexy surprise ;D

I better have the most toned butt cheeks after doing all this uphill walking.

The BBC tour was really interesting. Elvyn, the guy who took us to that cozy Jazz pub, also led us partially through this tour before handing us over to these two adorable older women. It was a great way to spend my birthday, but I was still kind of irked. What I was upset about was that I had gotten my hopes up of seeing David Attenborough, professional bad ass, up close and personal. All I got was a picture of me with his poster. Poop. We did get to make a fake radio broadcast and had some fun in front of the green screen. After which, Mattie and I got lunch with more of our growing Canadian horde plus the two New Yorkers and Ruth from Australia haha. But really, there are a lot of Canadians here.

Wine Circle was really cool. There aren't any clips of the actual wine tasting because I was too afraid of looking really dumb with my iPhone whipping out for every wine. Maybe next wine tasting I will, but it was kind of intimidating. First of all, Mattie and I came late so we arrived smack dab in the middle of this man's wine introduction. Everyone was dead quiet and well-dressed. I was wearing what I wore to school basically. Also, for having a dad who is so into wine, I only know that there is white, pink, and red wine. Everyone else seemed to be going with it fine, so I felt kind of out of place. After the fifth glass, everyone was more talkative. Kate was hilarious. She kept pointing out that our wine-speaker-person-thing looked a lot like Pippin from Lord of the Rings. It was pretty dead on, but again, I don't have pictures so you'll have to take my word for it. Afterward, everyone at our table plus some went to the cocktail bar next door where we proceeded to attempt tying cherry stem knots. Um, can I just say that I tied mine? Eventually we rambled into the Brass Pig, where Jon bench pressed Kate and I ruffled a ginger's hair, fulfilling what was basically a lifelong dream (Zach, please dye your hair). Thank you, tequila.

Yes, that is a pole dancing class. It was free, and it's a good core workout. It is not so sexy when done by me, however. I think there was a crucial gene missing somewhere in my DNA that allows for sexiness to happen. Today (Saturday), Mattie and I braved the wind and rain to finally finally get to the Clifton Suspension Bridge. We did. And we took side streets and found cute cafes and cute buildings and kitchsy shops with the cutest prints. And we didn't get lost. Which I wouldn't have minded. This store we found was too cute. I would have bought the entire store if I had the money. But I got a waterproof bag thing with foxes printed all over it and some small cards for people instead of the mugs, posters, and lamp shades that I couldn't possibly take home. We found chicken chow mein for under 5 pounds (score) and had tea at Cafe Amore to end our day. It was adorable. Then Mattie's flatmates flaked on us for our nighttime plans, and I edited a shitton of video footage off my iPhone. I haven't even sorted the photos from my phone and my camera. Halp.

In other news, I found all my videos of Zach from before I left. I had to pare it all down to the very best bits. If you've never met Zach, this is Zach.
